So as well as my Capri I took the plunge & bought this 4 door Escort. 1979, history from what I see is that it was bought new and passed over to the owner's wife in '94, then sold in 2005 and beyond that details are sketchy. But, it has an MOT until August '16, and plenty of small tweaks. New clutch, 1300 Crossflow, new Weber ICH34 carb, lowered 2" on single leafs at the rear, polybushed front end, and a 4 branch manifold, makes it sound faster than it goes, and front seat Recaros. It has a minor oil leak from the sump gasket (job to do) and the carb still needs tweaking but getting there. As my first dip into Escort territory it's a good start, it goes well (nothing like my Capri though) & a fairly smooth ride. Plans are to reinstate the chrome trim & paint the rear wheels, but the bodywork is solid & is worth keeping like it is, something cool about a ratty looking more door. Just need to enjoy it for the moment!

I.K. Engineering 1386cc Crossflow – Retro Ford engine build – Selling due to unforeseen circumstances - £1,200 ONO! This engine was built by the guru that is Ike from I.K. Engineering – hours or hard work and experience have gone in to this engine, which has never turned a key. Regrettably, I will never get to use it in anger due to unforeseen circumstances have forced the sale of this lairy short-engine. The engine has been sat un-used since it was built (aside from being turned by hand and a fresh set of seals and check-over from Ike) and I would like to see it go to a decent home. In fact, with a steel crank, you'd have yourself a fully steel Crossflow that will rev all day long. Engine: I.K. Engineering 1386cc Crossflow (short-engine), I.K. Engineering race-spec cylinder head (flowed 170bhp), Kent 1FR4 camshaft, I.K. Engineering billet roller-rocker kit, full ARP bolt-kit, I.K. Engineering ported/matched inlet manifold, 105Speed/Piper MASS-style large exhaust manifold, Accralite forged pistons, I.K. Engineering steel rods, baffled Twin-Cam sump, Beztek electronic ignition kit & distributer. The engine owes me a lot of money when you consider the cost of all the parts, let alone the expertise that has been thrown in – the pictures don't do it justice. I will include the Beztek electronic ignition kit & distributer, which are set-up. Twin 40's on a matched inlet are available at extra cost or if the buyer offers the full asking price. Please send me a PM if you're interested. I am not prepared to let it go for silly money, and I welcome any inspection or questions. Ike will also vouch for its integrity.
