  1. Not sure where to post on this. I know not classed as old skool by many, but I also know the engine will be of interest, being injected pinto. Please look out for any one who suddenly has whole injection set up and engine. Car last seen in Tower road, hindhead surrey, on 12/05/16, approx 4 pm F990 RFH. Silver. cracked front bumper,
  2. FOR SALE, no swaps. Lots of work done by previous owner and a little by me. Its definitely not your thing if you want it looking standard! 2.0 Pinto engine (1600 on log book), K&N filter, spare identical carburettor, spare alternator, various other little bits, door sill trim. 60k miles T&T (running out soon but will get it done again if I still have it - will fly through apart from front tyres probably) Flat black spray job, including engine bay in green before I bought it. Sunroof Genuine Autoplas side window louvres (with release key) Windows have reg no. etched Rear leaf springs replaced, along with polybushes, and have longer shackles which raised the car by 1.5" (for the fat chrome wheels in the pic, which are now removed), but standard shackles also included. Wheels are the 15" black Lenso (BBS style) ones with polished rims. 2 good Avon tyres, fronts need replacing. New battery. New rear brake shoes and pistons. Brakes are good. Black interior, including centre console which previous owner had a big stereo in, so just a space at the mo. Alarm and immobiliser, non standard door locks fitted. No bumpers No boot parcel shelf Side repeater indicators Nothing to mention rust wise, just the odd bit of flaking here and there. Single headlights installed, but still have the twin headlights with surrounds and grill. 2 sets of rear lights (one set black tint) 4 point rear seat belt harnesses Starts well, goes well, drives pretty straight, stops well. Bad bits: Boot keyhole has been removed and filled over - did have electronic release which broke, so now has cable release accessed from front of car. Rear window heater wire not connected. Rear wiper works intermittently. Glovebox flap removed (included), but needs hinges. If I was going to keep it I would polybush the whole thing. Will add more photos soon... £1900 ono. Putney, London.
  3. 1979 Cortina Mk4 2.0 Ghia Estate MOT until 25th October 2014 Now Taxed until 30th October 2014 Only 3 previous owners 4 speed manual Jupiter Red over Strato Silver, Cream interior and vinyl roof Very original overall condition Original Radio Mileage very low for the age at 52,000 (will change as this is my daily) Ziebart rustproofed from new - never welded - doesnt need any welding - solid underneath. At the recent MOT the tester was amazed how solid everything was but he did add one advisory for slight corrosion (nearside front chassis rail) but this was very very minor Everything electrical works. Interior in great condition Headlining mint Vinyl roof mint Runs great and very comfortable (the car and I have done several several hundred mile journeys with ease – even going on the Classic Ford tour to France last year which was about 650 miles over the weekend) Has had the following done in the last year ish: All rear suspension bushes changed for new Polybushes New rear springs New rear shocks New brake cylinders & shoes New front suspension top & bottom bushes New rollbar drop links 1 new brake caliper New brake master cylinder. Replacement refurbished 32/36 Webber carb New alternator New coil Refurbished (improved over standard black) Bosch Distributer New points and coil New NGK plugs. New Leads Oil/Air/Fuel filters changed. Classic 20/50 oil used. New performance air filter New antifreeze. New wipers all round. New battery. Only things that let it down is the paint (Laquer peel has spoiled the finish, rattle can laquer and kurust applied to stop the weather getting at it) & the bumper chrome isnt brilliant. I had a few issue with the carb but all sorted now (replacement fitted). Pulls very slightly to the left (meant to buy front Polybush set but haven’t got round to it) and lets a bit of rain in when it’s bad weather (passenger footwell) Not too bad at all for a 34 year old Alloys fitted in pics on (Capri 6j X 13 with 185/70 tyres) are going on my next car but I could be persuaded to leave them on at extra cost It’s up for sale on it’s original steels (with the chrome embellishers) I would have taken pics with those on but I got a rare moment of sunshine so we rushed out to take some photos in the park! I’ll be taking the modern head unit out and replacing the original radio too It’s been a pleasure to own this car for the last year and a bit, I’d be keeping hold of it but the wife must be obeyed (she wants a Sierra so all is not lost!) but it’s up for sale It's in South London Offers around £1500 ono I have put another 6 months tax on it taking it up to end of October (like the MOT) Will keep the asking price at 1500 though
