MK2Ed Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 i have wilwoods on my mk1 and they are evil! I just got Wilwoods 4 pot to be done with it (from Rally Design). While a bit more expensive than the previous they also tried & tested for power I wanted to run, now and future...
Guest MK1gaz Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 I just got Wilwoods 4 pot to be done with it (from Rally Design). Did they fit then ? My mates ones hit his track rod ends !!!!!!!!
mk1ian Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 I just got Wilwoods 4 pot to be done with it (from Rally Design). Did they fit then ? My mates ones hit his track rod ends !!!!!!!! yeah it was only one that hit the track rod end, not the brakes fault more down to a bent track rod end. unlike you to get the facts wrong
Guest MK1gaz Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 The trackrod end is always in the same place as it bolts into the strut , it can't move so the disc will still hit weither it's bent , straight , etc etc . They don't fit without spacing the discs out with washers so my facts are correct as usual
mk1ian Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 The trackrod end is always in the same place as it bolts into the strut , it can't move so the disc will still hit weither it's bent , straight , etc etc . They don't fit without spacing the discs out with washers so my facts are correct as usual still doesnt aswer why only side hit and that everyone that has looked at it has said that the arm thing off the strut is bent hence why it was hitting. if it was the brakes they would hit both sides and on every single car but they dont only on cars with bent arm thing from the strut to the track rod and the disc wernt spaced out at all so as usual your facts are fudged
Guest MK1gaz Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 They didn't fit though did they (mind you what does these days ?) and the discs are about 1mm from the track rod ends !!!!!!!!

Guest MK1gaz Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 Yes that's true . The A.P. kits cost the most and everything else just gets worse + worse with the less money you spend !!!!!!!

Retromotorsport Posted March 14, 2008 Report Posted March 14, 2008 There is also the old Track cheat ... Get some new calipers for a 2.8i Granada mk2 .. a small spacer to centralise on a 2.8i capri disc EBC greens and there you have it .. what looks like an M16 caliper and a bigger pad surface ... bigger pads more gripping .. Dan .. the one with the Red rs2000 mk5 engined car had this kit on his car, his words " nearly went through the screen, there the beesknees" went over to 15" wheels and had the huge Volvo discs and Princess 4 pots fitted and his words .."Crap" And many a race car has improved the brakes with this when the rules say standard calipers must be retained, on those cars we just took the spacers out for the vents .. And its what i fit to the Jensen Healey conversions i do .. This car uses them and this car did till we arched it and then used the Willwood 310 discs and 6 pots and this car runs a 250bhp 2.2 Lotus 912 engine
