and need some advices, cheap hotel or hostel for ~5 nights near london/silverstone?

or should we rent a car and travel all around england?

we are coming to Ford fair.

London is a long way from Silverstone.

 

If you are travelling to Silverstone you could try to stay in a hotel near there (near to Northampton). If you want basic cheap accommodation you should try the Travelodge. This is basically a room with double bed, sofa bed (for extra people to sleep on) bathroom, tv. They are basic but very clean. Some of them are attached to a pub or restaurant.

Alternatively, you could try and go onto google search engine www.google.co.uk and search for accommodation near Silverstone and you should find a hotel that way.

 

I have used Travelodges many times and they are good, clean, cheap accommodation if you are on a budget

I'm with Jo, I use travelodge from time to time when attending classic Ford shows

 

A word of caution though, are you bringing a classic Ford to Ford fair? If so be aware that they are frequently targeted by thieves over here (especially mk1 & 2 escorts ) so camping in a tent beside your pride and joy is also something you might want to think about.

 

All the scumbags that steal our cars are well aware that there are often plentiful pickings to be had around venues such as Ford fair.

i leave my escort`s to finland. what is really worth of seeing in there. i dont mean big ben, museums etc.. are there any car museum`s, good car shows?

 

we were also thinking that we stay 1 night in one hotel/hostel, maybe we rent a car or even buy it for week and give it away before leving

Best car museum I've seen in the UK has to be Beaulieu, it's superb and definitely worth the effort

well we dont need better than place to sleep and safe place for our baggage.

 

OSF meet sounds really good if there is meet then when we are there. possibly we come end of July and leave before 8 august..

gaydon museum is just up the road from silverstone and there are all sorts of cars there includin FEV 1H the london-mexico mk1 rally car.

i`m coming with my friend. my better half i leave finland and i have no kids.

we probably stay couple days in london and visit some most famous sights.

 

biggest problem is how we get to silverstone 5:th august?

 

we are staying 8-12 nights depending how cheap sleeping place we found..
