105Speed Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Why are you spending money on a rear disk conversion ? My 180bhp Zetec is still running drums on the rear, albeit 1200 drums but drums all the same and the car doesnt feel like it needs anymore brakes. It may do if it was on track but for road use its fine. Use the money for something you will really notice like a strut brace and double anti roll bar on the front... makes for a nice combo. or perhaps a rear A Frame.
old skool freestyler Posted May 15, 2007 Author Report Posted May 15, 2007 can you get the drums because the ones i have are shagged just thort i would be quicker and easyer to do it like that
105Speed Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 In the scheme of things it is a nice and easy way to go because you can see everything, in terms of how the pads and disks are wearing but it isnt that cheap, and if you are on a budget then its a luxury item that you dont have to have and could spend the money on other mods you will see a direct benefit from. You can get new 1200 drums if you keep an eye on flea-bay, but you need to make sure you have the 1200 back plates as they are different to the 997 ones. But if you need a rear set up from a 997 I may be able to help out as I know a couple of people who have broken cars and that sort of stuff is sitting about. I'll make a call and get back you.
105Speed Posted May 19, 2007 Report Posted May 19, 2007 Hello mate Got complete rear set up from a 997cc car if that gets you out of trouble £20 plus delivery. Cheers Neil
