Trevmk3 Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 Im going to be fortunate enough to be going to the Championship play-off final watching Derby and some second rate team going to be coming down on the train to St Pancras, and i will need to get to Wembley stadium from their, so does anyone know if the tube trains will be running on Monday the 28th May? if so does anyone know what times they run or how often. and also a link to a tube map might be useful, thanks in advance
Burns Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 i'm not sure on times, but there's a map here; (you're looking for the bakerloo line for wimbledon) http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/colourmap.pdf
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 Ere you go http://www.tfl.gov.uk/modalpages/2625.aspx
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 Typical. You want some info on public transport and three come along at once...
Smudger105e Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 I used to work in London, and the tube trains on most lines run at least every ten minutes, and usually more frequently than that. Victoria line often has trains 3 minutes apart or even less! Just turn up and catch the next one, and they are sure to be running on Monday...
Burns Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 haha looks like, st pancras to baker street, then change for wembley's gonna be ya best bet

Trevmk3 Posted May 16, 2007 Author Report Posted May 16, 2007 cheers, need to get off at either Wembley park station or Wembley central station, also what lines go from St Pancras, im a thick country bumpkin who cant read tube maps to well. cheers
Burns Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 you either want hammersmith & city, circle, or metropolitan line from st pancras to baker street then the bakerloo from baker street to wembley (both of those stations)
Burns Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 this might help... you need the pink, yellow or purple to baker street, so yo can get on the brown
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 Oh and when you buy the ticket, you are in a different zone to St Pancras so make sure you get the right one!
Trevmk3 Posted May 17, 2007 Author Report Posted May 17, 2007 looks like i can get the metropolitan line to wembley park station from st pancras so i shouldnt get to confused , does anyone know if they run on Bank holidays though as i dont want to book train tickets and find ive got to walk or get a taxi out to wembley. thanks again
jpayne Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 You shopuld have no problems getting the tube on the public holiday, unless there is a bomb or a customer incident or scheduled engineering works or a person under the train, or unscheduled engineering works or a broken signal or a stalled train or massive power disruptions or a terrorist attack or... you get the picture, trains run every 5-10 minutes, there will be no dramas getting there. Im not sure about that side of town I assume the wembley park station is close to wembly stadium (same name and all) but dont take the Tube map as gospel as to relating stations proximity to the real world, It is a graphic illustration of the tube system no the layout of London Enjoy the game
Trevmk3 Posted May 17, 2007 Author Report Posted May 17, 2007 supposed to be about 5-10 mins walk from the stadium, might be trying to find a supporters bus to get down there instead cos of the price of the trains. cheers people for the infromation it has been a help
mk2_escort_chick Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 Argh! How confusing! lol I only get the train to camden or brixton for gigs
Trevmk3 Posted May 17, 2007 Author Report Posted May 17, 2007 i know, i usually drive everywhere but would like to have a few beers during the day (starting at about 9am ) so trains, tube, buses are a like learning to walk again
mk2_escort_chick Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 well i know where i'm going when i go camden or brixton... but anywhere else and i'd have to take my trusty talking map-Dean!
