Temp gauge not working ....

Its not losing water and is running fine but now the temp gauge has stopped..... any ideas? I want it fixed before i drive 800 mile to CF and back

temp sender gone?

wiring gone somewhere?

just earth out the wire off the sender and turn the ing on,needle should go straght to the top = gauge ok sender shot.if not then guage shot

If its any help, my temp gauge works, after about 5mins it goes right off the scale, never overheats though, stays like that for about another 5min and then settles down just below the orange mark
