Morley Posted June 14, 2007 Author Report Posted June 14, 2007 My personal opinion is that if you have got a car with not much power but goes round on rails and stops on a half penny it will be able to brake later and carry more speed into a corner. You also learn to be a smoother driver because carrying momentum into the corner and keeping it there is important because you don't have the power to pull you out of the corner quickly if you cock it up. On back roads, a good handling car with less power would surely be faster and more fun to drive than something with big power and crap handling. Just my humble opinion. I wonder, if you put a good driver in a car with wicked handling and no power and a car with big power and crap handling, which would be quicker around a circuit. I guess it would depend largely upon the circuit!?

Morley Posted June 14, 2007 Author Report Posted June 14, 2007 Final answer: You need both But... What if you can't afford both?? Is it better to plough your money into one or the other?
over_head_cam Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 It's a tough one. Most people here know I've only got a small one But I reckon it's taught me how to get the best (most) out of it. You can have tons of fun at 50 down the lanes, and get a real sense of satisfaction from getting the braking, turn-in and power-out just right. Luckily mine had the basic upgrades already (2.8 billies, vented discs etc) so all I did was block the axle and I was away. Having sad that, it's sill as slow as fook, and it frustrates the sh1t out of me when I'm driving with faster vehicles as I struggle to keep up due to it's asthmatic properties So I'm spending what little money I have on a new engine
Guest MK1gaz Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 I'd tune the engine first with the money then chop 2 coils off the front springs and buy some lowering blocks for £20 !!!!!!!!!
X-pack-Glyn Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 Chopping front springs shove some blocks on the back id never do that power first then an LSD..... teaches you to be a better driver
puddy Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 POWER!! If you have never been in a BIG hp motor, you won't know why! puddy
