V8ian Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 I have at the moment Granada calipers on the rear of my car, only trouble is The hand brake mechanism has seized again, seems to seize up every MOT time, I have Two options, try and drill out the caliper to take a grease fitting so the internal mechanism can be lubricated, but Im not too keen on having grease and brakes in close proximity, I suppose I can use UHT grease to help avoid some of the the problems, OR-------- Change the callipers for somthing else, I fancy the VW alloy calipers, anybody know if they are a direct replacement for the Granny ones I have, Ian
Retromotorsport Posted June 27, 2007 Report Posted June 27, 2007 No, the hole spacing is different on the mounts, same as the RD alloy ones i think, not too sure but i think they are basicly the same caliper, Your stuck with the Ford pattern i'm affraid unless you change brackets. Seems strange that they are siezing each mot .. normally dont have a problem for a few years , but then i mount them upside down...
