LEONMEX Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Just fitted a steel flywheel to my car & it revs up quick as fook Have'nt tried it on the track yet but does feel loads better. Does anybody else use lightened steel flywheels & did they make any difference on the track or strip? The one i had done weighs 4.5kg,alot lighter than the cast job.
LEONMEX Posted June 29, 2007 Author Report Posted June 29, 2007 Good just a bit worried i might be getting a bit carried away & doing to much & make the car slower (only doing it to catch you up Baz,Still got a little way to go though!lol)
over_head_cam Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 I hear that a lightened flywheel will cause the engine to lose a little bit of enertia and be harder to get off the line. That's what I hear
James HPE Motorsport Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 I hear that a lightened flywheel will cause the engine to lose a little bit of enertia and be harder to get off the line. That's what I hear You got it Just have to rev it harder to compensate! just as well it revs better now you put that lightweight flywheel on ay!
over_head_cam Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 A bit of ying and yang then James? Swings and roundabouts and all that
