steve dray Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 Gutted for ya m8, I've got 2 T5's, one in the Angrybox and one I am trying to rebuild at the mo. The one in the car has noisy bearings, and is reluctant to change down into 4th, and the one I'm rebuilding is reluctant to change down into 4th and 3rd! I'm stuck at the mo tho as the problem with T5's is getting the 5th speed gear off the shaft, need to make a special tool!! If you get a new box keep the old one as I might be able to rebuild it for you.
RETRO_AL Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 i got mine rebuilt by the gearboxman, it was £500 all in but £100 of that was for a new bellhousing as i fooked my old one, so your talking £400 aprox for a rebuild contact number here http://www.gearboxman.co.uk/contact.html also theres some usefull info on here http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2005 ... /index.php

kevmk2 Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 My brother just had his done by gearboxman twice It went in the first time whining and crunching,it had a complete overhaul set which came to £595 + Vat he put it back in the car and it was still whining and crunching. So he rang them and had to take the car there,Bernie drove the car and said i see what you mean,he then had to drive home and take the gearbox out and take it back up there in his sierra, then he waited two weeks for it to be done and got it back last saturday and its ok now finally. But its cost him a fortune in running around because it wasnt done properly the first time.
