d_kni004 Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 Hi, I've got a '73 Aussie Fairlane in Ford Daytona Yellow. The previous owner had an aversion to washing/polishing cars. I'm trying to build the colour back up as it had got a little dull. Do you have any recommendations on what products/polishes I should be using? Cheers, Dave.
105Speed Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 Try some Autoglym paint renovator... Its not as harsh as something like T Cut. OR.. if you are feeling flush then the Meguiers stuff is superb, they do a 3 stage polish 'system' and they also have something similar to AutoGlyms Paint Renovator which helps take off the oxidisation. Dont go mad though it would be easy to go through the paint if its not on that thick or is painted in cellulose.
Gonzo Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 I use Mer on my bikes and anything else I feel like tarting up. really good sh*t it is too.
Trevmk3 Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 i use autoglym for my cars, ive heard meguiars is the bollox though. i managed to get the plastic on my mk6 looking red again instead of the pink that it was by using normal autoglym polish nothing fancy just that and elbow grease
cledus Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 Autoglym Super Resin is good. I've heard Meguiars is good but have not tried it.
MK II Mark Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 This is what i use when all the Stella has run out....NO REALLY ...
