Burns Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 caught the mr sam bug, decided to strip the fezza today in preparation for silverstone on sunday, wish i hadn't bothered now here's she as she is now; and here's the seat mounts (passenger, then drivers side); that'll why the seats didn't feel right question is, do they inspect at ford fair before the racing? if so, that carpet's going back in
Burns Posted August 2, 2007 Author Report Posted August 2, 2007 ok, i kinda need to know if this'll stop me racing? anyone know?
Retromotorsport Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 Personally if it was me ... yes it would.. i've had a hard hit and you want to be in a secure seat ... an MOT station would charge around 40 quid to weld that up
johnny_h Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 Fookin el, thats a bit of a shock for ya eh?
Burns Posted August 2, 2007 Author Report Posted August 2, 2007 i'll get my brother to weld it up, that's not a problem, he just may not be able to do it tomorrow i do know what you mean retro about safety first and all that
Burns Posted August 2, 2007 Author Report Posted August 2, 2007 Fookin el, thats a bit of a shock for ya eh? yep, ah well tbh, it's the passenger one that's bad, the driver's isn't that bad in comparison, the missus refuses to go in the car anyway, so i'll just not take passengers till it's fixed
Mr Sam Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 mine was like that when i pulled the carpet out, patched up with the casing off an old video machine oh and ive swept mine out properly and given it a lick of paint now, looks loads better and why have you got door cards
antz Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 why not just rip the dash out and have a sheet of metal with a few quages
Burns Posted August 2, 2007 Author Report Posted August 2, 2007 and why have you got door cards cos i hadn't taken them out when i found the rust they'll be off soon enough
Burns Posted August 2, 2007 Author Report Posted August 2, 2007 why not just rip the dash out and have a sheet of metal with a few quages i was considering whether i needed a dash or not
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 if you lived nearer id have welded it up tommorow what about bolting a plate in till your brother can weld it

DEP Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 They dont check the cars as such, all they have done in the past is check to see that you have removed all loose objects from the car, which in this case could be your seats
FlashCadillac Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 why not just rip the dash out and have a sheet of metal with a few quages naaaahhh metal it too heavy, just get a bit of fiberglass in ther! fiberglass pannel?? why do you need to set gadges in something.... just bolt them to the A pillar
