I am currently trying to arrange a North Wales weekend tour as maybe a ‘closure’ to the season. It’s planned for the last weekend in September....Sat 29th / Sun 30th, as a last fling before the Tax disc runs out for many.

It’s a tour of Snowdonia National Park in North Wales….planned something like this:

Sat 29th.... meet morning / early afternoon at the DOLGAMEDD campsite near Dolgellau in the heart of Snowdonia. This is a really, really nice site with a riverside location, campfire, electricity, showers etc (£7 each per night). Link below:

For those not so keen on camping, there are B+B’s in the nearby village of ‘Brithdyr’, (5 minute walk ), but it will be up to the individual to book, but I can get contact details.

Then on the Saturday afternoon, we will go to the Snowdon Mountain Railway to take advantage of the fantastic trip up to the summit of the highest mountain in England and Wales. We will stay there for a few hours so that people can go up on the train http://www.snowdonrailway.co.uk/ (Someone will be guarding the cars in the meantime !) The return trip up the mountain on the Train costs £15.00. Then, we will return to the campsite for a BBQ and a shandy.

Sunday morning, we will have breakfast, a shower, and pack up our tents and go on a bit of a drive at 10am around some truly unforgettable scenery. For those who cannot make it the previous night and would like to join the convoy for an ‘unarranged’ drive on Sunday, just be there by 9.30am.

The drive will conclude in a place called 'TheHorseshoe pass’ at about 3pm.See this link: http://www.ponderosacafe.co.uk/ . This a very popular meeting point for motorbikes, but I’m not sure it has ever seen a gathering of Classic Fords ! Thereon people are free to go home whenever they like. For reference purposes, The Horseshoe pass is only about 45 mins from the M6 in Cheshire.

FOR THE SAKE OF THE MSA, this is just an enthusiasts get-together for a Sunday drive, NOT an arranged RALLY of any kind !

This thread is to initially see whether people would be interested. Please put names up here and if there is sufficient interest by 1st Sept, I will ask thereafter for a small deposit.

Names to be added to this thread please. :D

That sounds like a fabulous weekend away, I think I'd probably want to make a weekend of it and head up on the Friday night though.

Count me in provisionally as I have a lot of work commitments through September

The horseshoe pass and the roads in North Wales generally are some of the best stretches of road in the UK.

If the capri's back on the road I'm in for this and I can stay at the mother-in-laws in a nice comfy bed as she lives in Snowdonia :D
