escortmad79 Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 Mk1 Fez or 100Es can be picked up cheaply but have tiny engine bays
Arched Escy Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 another tina id say and plenty of space in the bay.
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 i was thinking either mk1 fiesta or another tina but tinas are quiet heavy
Arched Escy Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 but mk1 fezzas are the wrong way round how cheap is cheap ?
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 yeah i know few hundred quid not too bothered on body work cause got my ow ideas on colour scheme and just gonna piss can it i might go for another cortina then i could end up with loads of spares for mine the parts i strip
Jarrodm Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 If your looking to strip it, get a 100e. There are alot of parts you can fit easily. And alot of "throw aways" that can be sold on to raise funds. And 100e's rule. Are you looking to go fast or to be old skool ? Becouse the sidevalve engine has alot of period performance parts. Jarrod
antz Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 whatever car you get just get out the circular cutter and scraper for the sound deadening and thatl;l save a few kgs

Popuptoaster Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 wouldnt say a mk5 tina is heavy, about 1000 kilo's which may be heavier than a fiesta but the RWD advantage and the space for a much bigger engine goes a long way to countering the extra size. most supermini's these days are heavier than the ol' mk5.
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 ok a mk 5 tina would be good as i said get spares too for my road car
Copey Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 my capri cost me £750 can get a semi decent one for £400-500 i doubt you would run out of bay space either...
Arched Escy Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 i think a balls out mk5 would be the dogs
Popuptoaster Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 Mines gonna be satin black when its done, 24v is staying standard while i get it all sorted and running nice then i'm after some another 100bhp or so with forced induction, it wont be stripped out (has leccy windows and central locking and will be nicely trimmed and iced) or set up for the strip though so not really hard core., should look mean though, hopefully will be out this year, the engines in now so progressis being made.
