jimbo Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 Just found a can of this lying around. http://www.wynns.be/product.aspx?nav=1&g=1&s=25&b=51364&p=51364&l=EN What are your thoughts on it folks? I might have a bit of oil burn going on (but it could be just a leak). Is it worth me spending a few quid on a compression tester before I pour it in? Cheers, Jim
Noodles Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 Best oil treatment iv used is pelvins recomendation activ8 it really make the engine run smoother. but it is expensive but lasts 5 oil changes http://www.activ8.uk.com

jimbo Posted August 24, 2007 Author Report Posted August 24, 2007 I've chewed this over. I don't think that there's much harm me chucking it in. I change my oil frequently enough. So I'll give it a bash and live with whatever consequences there might be. On a slightly different note. What budget compression tester would you guys recommend?
MK2Ed Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 Burton sell a good compression tester - never let me down... Re oil treatments, my neighbour has a theory on this, that oil companies invest a lot of time, money and trouble in creating the right oils for the different specifications that adding treatments to your engine are a waste of time - me personally unsure...

Pipster007 Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 As it's lying around, I'd just throw it in on the next oil change
Jarrodm Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 Yeah, it's not to hard to drain it if it does I got bored of my fizz not smelling right, so i threw a swig of castrol R in the tank....It ran great and it smelt real nice....30 miles from home with no mobile my plug oiled up and i had to push it 4 miles to a petrol station. I only use the expensive petrol, and i threw away a tenners worth and then had to fill it up again Jarrod
