sambo Posted August 28, 2007 Report Posted August 28, 2007 This problem i'm having with my struts! Surely putting a group 4 alloy hub onto a mk1 escort strut has been done before?? I know that the mk1 escort strut stub axle is imperial and the group 4 hub is metric but apparently the last owner tried everything to get them to mate but in the end he had to resort to getting a sleeve made up for him! Whilst this does work, i would just like to know why they dont mate up since putting a a group 4 hub onto a mk1 strut has been done at least a few time before!!!? Anyone else had problems?? The strut is a leda fully adjustable jobbie with the cast steering arms... Cheers, and i hope someone can shed some light on this for me!!!
Guest MK1gaz Posted August 28, 2007 Report Posted August 28, 2007 Phone 01428 682263 ( gartrac ) and they will help you mate
RETRO_AL Posted August 28, 2007 Report Posted August 28, 2007 i think its mainly because most people upgrade struts from the capri(billys) type or gaz so they make them to fit the most popular one used not many people stick with the standard leg with the cast steering arm
