SmokeEm Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 Over the weekend, I replaced both track control arms, track rod ends & anti roll bar bushes on my pinto capri. (Not poly's) Haven't done this before but the steering/handling felt a little 'vague' to me. My problem was that when we removed the ARB we could not get the front washers or sleeves of of it no matter what we did (I.e big hammer & oxy/ace kit etc ) so therefore we had to cut off the old ARB front bushes & slice the new ones to fit over. Whilst this didn't bother me too much, it means that I could only replace the TCA washers at the rear where it bolts to the arm. Has anyone else has this hassle?
bortaf Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 yep, loads of times there's usually a cut in the tube, i hammer a chisel in the gap to open it up that usually breaks the rust hold, if not a grinder (carefully) will be needed
SmokeEm Posted August 30, 2007 Author Report Posted August 30, 2007 thanks mate. We tried eveything and gave up in the end. Mate reckons it'll be fine as it is so fingers crossed. Will have to star thinking about changing the rear to single leafs now.. Ho hum!
