SmokeEm Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 Help...! I have now changed both track rod ends, both track contol arms & all bushes, front anti roll bar bushes & had the wheels balanced but the thing still feels like a death trap! I just don't know what to do next! Every little bump seems to unsettle the cat & make it feel that both front wheels are 'Off the ground' Its so hard to explain. For the record, its got 145lb -2" springs fitted on standard dampers (Could it be them?) I'm loathe to splash out on new inserts if its not them. Could it just be where I haven't yet done the tracking? At 1st I thought it was because I drive a modern car every day usually but I brought it to work today for the 1st time (20miles) and it felt deadly! I'm at my wits end
flyingbanana Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 getrit tracked for a start then go from there on
flyingbanana Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 also did you put the both track contol arms right way around ? i did that once.....had the same sort of problems.....it felt like a boat and it coudnt decided what it wanted to do

I bought 2 complete arms off ebay & my mate put the car up on one of them body lift things & changed them without even removing the wheels. Would he not have noticed if they wre wrong?

Would he not have noticed if they wre wrong? i think he means he put them in the steering arms the wrong way ie the thread of the tre going in from the top instead of being pushed up into the arm i would get it along to a 4 wheel alinement place, you will be very suprrised at the differance even better try and get ti someware that has the new optical alinment, its far better than laser

He has a 4 wheel alignment system at work so we'll try that. If it isn't that, I give up!
