lee_capri Posted September 4, 2007 Author Report Posted September 4, 2007 1243 on a precross too, not the usual 1342 that other 4 pots use... i thought it was 1342
Smudger105e Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Most other manufacturers use 1342, but not good old Henry's products, 1243 for his. I've tried it 1342 and it don't run very well, believe me!!
lee_capri Posted September 4, 2007 Author Report Posted September 4, 2007 mine's 1243, just checked is that on a mk2 escort normal x-flow also need to no front pully weather its t.d.c ,4 ,8, 12
Burns Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 <--- nah, it's on my fezza, but they're all the same not sure what timing you want tho
Smudger105e Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 mmm, also not sure what you are looking for. Firing order is 1243 when 1 is at the free end of the engine (water pump end) Should fire when number 1 is just before TDC, when the notch on the bottom pulley lines up with the timing mark on the timing chain cover (is it the same on a crossflow?) Make sure valves are starting to open/close on No4 (this will ensure No4 is on exhaust stroke)
