Guest MK1gaz Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 Pod is where your time slip is judged , shakeys always faster with it's downhill dip . Not as downhill as 99% of the drag strips abroad though
Guest MK1gaz Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 My mates mini is half a second faster at shakey , he thought it was his new atb diff and gearing until he went back to the Pod and went the same as before !!!!!!!!
Mr Sam Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 im still .4 quicker at shakey.........yet to break into the 18's at pod
GJUK Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 You guys make it sound like there is a mountain on the drag strip. Both were flat last tim I went there OR maybe as I've never driven on either its more obvious in the cars? Jon
Pipster007 Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 I've not been to Shakey, but I understand that you don't have all the aggro of waiting for your runs, like you do at the Pod, which is ideal if your there to race.
Admin Mk2Jo Posted September 13, 2007 Admin Report Posted September 13, 2007 I don't mind either ..... at Shakey I like the track prep and the queues have always been much shorter AND you can watch the racing while you queue. At the Pod you get a certain atmosphere on the night races which hasn't been equalled yet at any stop-overs at Shakey
Baz. Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Thing is you get a giant que at the pod, which we have never had at shakey.
Lilo_Capri Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 i crew for a pro et car and we have always run our pb's at the pod. the pods track is much better prepped at a meeting and clean up crew is second to none. but shakey has free seating and the good thing is the pits makle it so you cant go more than about 5 mins walk from the track whereas the pod is a pain as pro et is now pitted past the finish line. shakey has by far the better atmosphere at night and we have had many a good night there, can;t remember half of them mind. verdict: i have to say i prefer the pod for its proffesionalism and all round great atmsophere on race day.
Admin Mk2Jo Posted September 13, 2007 Admin Report Posted September 13, 2007 Only trouble is that the Pod don't prep their track quite so well on a non professional race day
Mr Sam Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 pod can be awfull on a genral RWYB day for grip ive seen 4 wheels drive cars spinning all 4 whlees on some days and never seem to have as much down time at shakey no oil on track etc....which seems to be regular occurance at pod,,,,,maybe the scruitineering at shakey
kevmk2 Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Never been shakey,so cant comment, will let you know after the 29th
Guest MK1gaz Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Never been shakey,so cant comment, will let you know after the 29th Best fit a parachute Kev , you'll break the sound barrier over there
w p e Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 i think the queues at the pod tell you something about whitch is better.
