does anybody run a mig welder from a generator? ive got a 130amp mig, wot size generator do i need to use??

Never tried to run welder from generator, but best guess is welder would require about 10 amps on mains. @ 240 volts this is about 2500 watts. a pretty chunky generator.

I hire a mig and genny once before i bought one, I think if i remeber correctly it was a celbra 190 and they supplied a 6 or 7 kva genny to run it.
