phillipi Posted October 20, 2007 Report Posted October 20, 2007 Just reached the 10 post mark so thought i would put some pictures up It is a 1976 escort GL. not sure if it was assembled in NZ or not, but I assume so Bought for NZ$750 and had no rego or warrant but all legal now The 1300 left blue smoke hanging in the air for about 100m so some mates and i lifted it out by hand and I got a 711m 1600 off the net and put it in Engine has had headwork, don’t know what though (cam of unknown type) last owner couldn’t tell me what had been done... New engine came with 4 to 1 extractors but had been hacked off after where the pipes meet so got a whole new 2 inch exhaust system. Had some carby and tuning problems so the carby got reconditioned and got a bit of a tune up and seems to be better now. Garage people said the carby still needs rejetting for the cam though Just waiting for holidays so I have time and money to get rid of some of those dents I enjoy it... Tell me what you think...
