razersedge Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 need to get a new set of 48's for my car for the 3d map sensor to fit so if you was going to get a shiny new set of carbs would you get webers or dellortos cos i've heard bad things about the new ones from both makes and i like my car to much to put solex ones on it so what would you buy ?
dragaddict Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 hi m8 here we mostly use webers and they are easy to work on
Tom Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 haven't used webers mate but my del'lortos have been sweet - fit, set up and forget about them mate
texr2000 Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 I went for dellortos, partly cos I got a really good deal but also thought I heard they staid in tune better and can be better to tune with
Fiesta Steve Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 Dellorto's are better to fine tune. I don't use them though, I stick with what I know
kris Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Vizard allways said Dellortos were better (on a pinto) due to the finer fuel atomisation. Also, my tuner agreed with texr2000 about staying in tune... I suspect in the end that it doesn't really matter too much .
old skool freestyler Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 i got a set of solex being rebilt atm but will be goin on my new pinto when its here
Guest MK1gaz Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Weber , solex , dellorto = all the same really just use whatever
old skool freestyler Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 just solex are a bitch to get parts for
Guest MK1gaz Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 I've got lots of solex twin 40's if anyones after spares
lead foot Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 i have used webbers and dellortos and i find the dellortos stay in tune far longer
Muttley MK2 Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Use webers if you like getting under the bonnet with a screw driver!!!
