Noodles Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 I use halfords for gaskets my local motor factors is way more expensive and not very helpful, but if I cant get what i want from halfords then I go to sarahs mate who gives us mates rates. I would never use Ajays thou I used to work at halfords and probably because I was into my cars and gave a shit I was able to order all sorts of parts for customers I thought that we would not be able to get, the two main motor factors we used was Ajays in northfleet which were very unhelpful and many parts turned up wrong, I even had a pair of brake shoes turned up that were used! But SC Motorfactors in strood who we used were excellent
oliwally Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 Mate i've been using Robin at Mercury's for nearly 10 years, ask to have a look at some of the motors he's got in the shop mate you'll be amazed!! I don't mind getting parts from Halfords now i've got a trade card, you get shit loads off and a price guarantee. e.g a 6 quid oil filter for £1.50 Same for me, I went to Halfords tonight & bought 2x stop & tail bulbs, normal price £ 2.49, trade price, which is what I paid 46p, although the discount differs depending on what you get.! As well there is a motor factors on the Brighton road South Croydon, called ?????????? the guy in there knows anything you ask him about OSF, & if he hasn`t got it he normaly can get it next day. Jeff Harris... Hobbs I Think

Mick The Mig Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 In Gravesend we have "The Motorist Shop"AKA Chalmers. I wanted a new Master cylinder, apparently there were four alternatives listed. Guy got all four in for us to look at. Also local Kwik Fit very understanding, they keep a big box full of new exhaust off-cuts, reducers and small bends etc, this box can be accessed for a small cash donation!!!!
