When my Dad told me about this Monday morning I felt physically sick & what Andy had done at the scene of the accident holding Darrens hand & talking to him & trying to reassure him about getting treated once the ambulance got there but unfortunately his injuries took his life, so sad ! My thoughts are with his family & friends.. RIP DARREN Jeff Harris..

I agree With Wayne, "OLD SKOOL FORD" !!! does that mean that in 5 years my X reg Mondeo will qualify for it to be considered as an OSF ! & then be allowed to be included on this site This forum & site is very good already & it will spoil it if we allow all those cars that in my view put Ford on a downward spiral ! From an early age I was brought up with OSF & loved them & wouldn`t have anything else,since the plastic era I look for better cars & sadly its not often I have chosen a Ford I rest my case !!! Thank you Vista,you took the words right out of my mouth !!! Jeff Harris. Seriously poor design thinking by Ford in my opinion! I nearly had the same nightmare scenario with the van at the end of my build. Fortunately it was in a workshop at the time and a powder extinguisher was immediately to hand. A redesign of the fuel plumbing happened smartish after that. Narrow escape eh Lucky To be honest I & others use these fuel banjo`s bought from certain outlets & ebay & looking at them they are toilet !! My James has the right idea & should be a lesson to others,he has fitted all aeroquipe pipe banjo`s etc,it looks fantastic & its a lot more proffesional,not only because of the race quality but the safety knowing that it is less likely to brake !! I know this stuff aint cheap but its a hell of a lot cheaper than what Andy now has to pay because of inferior parts !! A lesson learnt for every one,that when it comes to fuel lines there isn`t to dear !! Jeff Harris..

As you have said,this car has inspired so many people,& a lot who wouldn`t admit it ! Andy has owned this car for 23 years & I would say was the fastest N/A 2.2 Pinto MK1 escort on the Planet !!!with virtually standard suspension & gearbox etc,just Power & pilot !! I was down Andy`s workshop the other day & just after 4 days of grieving,he decided to give the old girl a chance ! As I was there he allready had it rolling,the engine was stripped for a thorough inspection,various parts replacement & put back together,ready for its resorection ! We all agreed that we had to give her another chance & as the surgeons on million dollar man said "we have the technology" Andy is taking the car to a guy who is going to give her a new lease on life & although ordinarily you would pull the plug in agreement,this car has a lot of History & unfinished business,so as Arnie would say "I`ll Be Back" Jeff Harris..

I spoke to Andy in length yesterday about what had happened & yes he was so upset & gutted,that such a Legend of a car was totally destroyed ! He told me he welled up as he helplessly watched his car in a ball of flames & realised that was the end of a car that Andy had owned for 24 years & had Loved !! Andy burnt his arm & leg before he got out but the only thing hurting was his head !! It was a fractured fuel pipe that had gone spraying fuel everywhere & the inevitable happened !! We almost feel that we have lost part of the family,in a strange sort of way !! Jeff Harris..

Hello to everybody on here. This is a warning to every body on this forum. There is a Ebay seller under the name of ninja96chris who is selling parts on Ebay listing New & also selling parts as described Mint or Perfect, I Foolishly was one of his Victims !!! I enquired through Ebay messages to this seller,to ask about some rear lights that were on Ebay for a MK2 escort,he contacted me the same way & asked for my tel/no as he wasn`t near a computer. The conversation was like this. I will sell these lights to you outside Ebay for £75 + P&P I said can you confirm that these lights are as described "MINT" as some peoples discriptions are different to others,he said mate these lights are like new "Perfect" !! Ok I said,how do you want me to pay for these,he said PayPal is good mate. I thought well there can`t be anything dodgy about this guy as he wants me to pay by PayPal. He said can you Pay as a gift & I foolishly did,oh & he said £15 P+P for next day special delivery, I did get these parts the next day but the amount was £6.75 on the PO stamp. I unwrapped the box & was absolutely discusted & dissapointed with the quality of these lights,absolute Junk !! I naturally e`mailed the guy & got a reply within the hour,I expressed my dissapointment & said I want a refund,he replied,your being too picky,these lights have come off of a 40 year old car,what do you expect,then I remembered he had rung me,so I called him & he was an absolute pratt saying you bought em,you do what you like,i`m not giving you your money back,is that clear enough for you,naturally I wanted to rip his head off but thought na I will get him back the same way as he has conned me !! so I reported him to Ebay,PayPal,I had some good news though,because I only had £27 in my PayPal account,the other £63 was drawn from my bank as a direct Debit,because of that I could draw the money back through my bank from Paypal & they would draw it back from the conning twat,although be it only £63 but I still have the lights & can use the backs at some stage !!! I have put these crap lights back on Ebay not to con anyone myself at a price starting £200 but to warn others not to buy from this Joker ninja96chris !! I have allready had two e`mails from people who have been conned by this Moron. Anyway the Moral of this long story is don`t buy from this "TWAT"

Well done Kev Who needs V8's ? puddy Ps. About the same terminals and et's Jt was doing in the Anglia 15 years ago kev,no gas. You can't beat the sound of a well sorted V8 mate I'm not running gas mate and also only on 20psi boost I couldn`t agree more Kev, Bikes have there own great sound,4 cylinders with carbs or throttle bodies but especially a mental V8 thers not a sound like it, not forgetting the V8s in the F1 cars also champ & Nascar, I`ve never been a lover of the V6 but the Metro 6R4 sounded the nuts !!! Weve both had a taste of the V8s Kev so we should know Jeff Harris ..

We went to the show for the first time with a trade stand,not knowing how good or bad it would be but was amazed how good it was & all the stock we sold, so we will definately be there next year & who knows we might even have a race car there !! LOL Jeff Harris..
