I would agree with Lotusless! if you are a beginner you will be absolutely in the dark as to whats good or bad & also what it would realistically cost you to attempt a project such as this one! I am asuming you are talking about the same car on ebay? What is your budget as I may be able to help & does it need to be a Mk1 consul or suchlike? Jeff Harris..

Hello Rich that MK1 is crying out for Sierra pinto running gear " keep it Ford" I am not sure if it will go in without some mods though but then any engine conversion would need some modifications done to it! Back in the eighties Myself & my Family used to fit V6 & V8 ford engines into MK1 & MK2 Consuls/Zephyr/Zodiacs with not alot to modify! Good luck though I have always said one day if I got a MK1 Consul it would have a real nice pinto in it! Jeff Harris..

YKT yes Simon Compettition is Healthy.. James is gonna run it the first time up at the Pod as the guy who owns it has never driven up the before . My Dad quoted to Danny who`s car it is when you drive that car for the first time you will Sh*t yourself & then you will have a smile from ear to ear every time after that!! Jeff Harris..

I wont know exactly what power it will have until it goes on the rollers but I did a 2.1 for a Greek customer with all the same bits etc & it made 207bhp! What a week that was the guy wanted it set up in a car so James car was here waiting for his new engine after I had sold it to a guy with a mk1 RS2000. Fitted it in on the tues went to the rollers wednesday run it in set it up etc & as said it made 207bhp we brought it back took the engine out the next morning thursday that is then fitted James`s new 2 litre took it back to the rollers the next day friday it made 202bhp then got it back here changed the diff to a LSD instead of the spool which James had in the car as well took the 4 spd out fitted a 5 spd didnt get to bed until 2.30 then up at 5.30 am to go to silverstone for the Ford fair & was very pleased with how it went & handled! After all that I was completeley Fooked & had to recover by having Monday off but poor ol James went to work though.. Jeff Harris,,

Just had to share this one with everybody! When this baby hits the road "WOW" how nice is this 4dr! of coarse it has one of our 2.1 Pinto`s in it & Danny who owns this one isn`t mucking about he is doing a great job with all the detail & bits being fitted to this car which when this hits the road will be a real eye catching sleeper with a lot of power! Hi Harry.. Oh did he now thats my engine in there lol thats what it was built for & glad to see that he`s using it as that was the intention instead of just the Pod etc.. We originally bought this car more the fact that it was LHD for running it at the pod & Brighton speed trials because it would be better as the driver is on the side that the engine wants to lift so quicker times rather than lifting the wheels off the ground. If money was no object I would like to build this car into the best 4dr & definately the fastest but then it would take away the money i want to spend on the 2dr, oh well. Jeff Harris.

Doh what a Richard.. thanks Dave Its one of those situations where I don`t plan on putting a Wolf under the bonnet but the longer I keep it the more I will be tempted.. I have all the parts to make this car a real animal & it would be interesting to see what it would run at the Pod.. I feel gutted to be selling this car whenever that is,especially after bigging up what I had in mind for it & I know James is as well but now having the 2dr I can have some fun myself like the rest of my Family instead of being a by stander.. Hey Leon, I have considered doing a 1600 for it but I don`t think its practical when I am going to sell it at some stage soon! Maybe if I had someone interested in it that wanted me to fit a 1600 then I might. I bet if anyone drove this car & didn`t know that it was a 1300 would swear it was a 1600 as it is realy quick. I was talking to a few lads the other day at Sanspeed & one of them said would you consider converting it to a right hand drive of which I replied yes I would & Peter of Sanspeed said I wouldn`t because I think its good to be different & in any case its a rarer car as a LHD! I suppose he`s right in a way but then I would agree because I own it & want to sell at some stage.. Jeff Harris..

Here are some pictures of the more door I bought in January with a view to do up ie for race but then bought a 2dr & decided to do that instead! I bought this car complete on French plates registered it on English plates a few hundred quid later. started to strip & sell parts from it a bit premature I know considering it was still Mot & taxed & regretted it . I had a change of heart to use it for a while, while I start the 2dr project, so I lowered it 2" all round & treated it to a set of rmd 6x13 minilight lookies & 185/60/13 nankang tyres & also had it tidied up where it had some rust & a dent in the front wing due to me trying to drive it off with the wheel clamp still on I have also bought back the parts I removed & will eventually bolt it all back on anyway here it is & I am sure you will agree that it looks the nuts I will sell this at sometime but for know I am going to get some enjoyment out of it after all the time effort & money spent to get it looking like this.. Just a thought mate do you have the pump mounted vertical or horizontal as it will make a difference? The facet pump works best vertical & I do know some people that have had the same problem with the pump mounted horizontal!! As well do you have a fuel pressure regulator & what pressure do you have it set at?? Good luck Jeff Harris..

Hello sorry I didn`t get back to you straight away been busy. I have removed the front & rear bumpers, body trim,door mirror,square headlamps & bowls, & centre consul all but the centre consul which I sold i still have all the other bits to put back on! The car is in VGC & still has Mot till January 2011 drives superb & mechanically very good. the top plates are original as is most of the rest of it! The bad bits are both rear arches have some rust coming through as does the osf wing the same wing has a dent where it meets the door but all are easily repaired other than that the car is really good! if you want to ask any more questions give me a ring on 07958725432 Jeff Harris..
