you will definately need to shorten the track rods as you will get bump steer! as the suspension moves up & down the tca moves in an arc & if the track rod is longer or shorter than intended then one will fight against the other hence the term bumpsteer! Jeff Harris..

I didn`t want to broadcast my beautiful daughters passing but since James is doing this for the Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign I wanted to say a couple of things! Our Jo or as I used to call her Spanna was diagnosed on the 22nd December with breast then secondary breast cancer which had spread to her liver & bones! on that day she had her first treatment of Chemo & then for the next six months of which she was doing quite well. then over the next 6 to 8 weeks after her treatment she got some normality back into her life going on Holiday with her Fiancae & going back to work for 3 days a week, then she got the news that the tumour on her liver was active again & that was the turning point she over the next 4 weeks just deteriated & on the 22nd of September at 7.45pm she passed. It was such a tragic time & especially that back in november 2008 that her long time boyfriend of 8 years had proposed to her & they had set the date for there Wedding on the 3rd October 2009 unfortunately she was 10 days short of her getting to that day & we together with Carlos her Husband to be gave her the best funeral we could on the same day & in the same church, She bless her was in her Wedding dress & we had a white Hearst instead of the traditional black one & we dressed the same as we were going to for the Wedding! There were 300+ people that turned up & she would have been proud! A lovely tribute to her Life.. Anyway today is a month since she passed & I want to thank people for there donations in Jo`s memory & to also thankyou for the kind comments Old Ford Skoolers had put up.. I hope James & all his workmates & friends can collect a big ammount of money for the Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign as they looked after Jo so well during her treatment & especially her last days that its giving back something for other patients! Yeh I agree he ran 5 tenths quicker from his first run 12.7 to his second run 12.2 but he wasn`t out & out kicking its arse cos he wanted to make the final run & when he did do the final run his clutch was slipping so who knows what could have happened eh !! Yeh I agree the years you have to go till your 75 & the things you could possibly do to your engine in the next ten years probably would be running simular times We have been talking about ( me & James that is ) building a proper 1700 crossflow ie all steel etc instead of the 1700 rubber lump that james achieved his 12.7 with his 169 bhp to rejuvinate the crossflow competition! Where I used to live back in Wallington Surrey I had several OSF & other sporty cars over a period of a number of years & there was this bloke who would walk past first thing in the morning & later in the afternoon evening time & he used to ask about the cars I had every time I happened to be out tinkering & he became a bit of a pratt but I didn`t want to be rude so I would answer his ridiculous questions with as much stupidity as he would ask! Bloke is that a Irish 2000 mate Me no it was made in England Bloke Is that one of them seewerra Woolworths Me no pick & mix Bloke is that one of those Mr bushy` Me no Mitsubishi Bloke thats what I said He would refer to new cars as (I don`t like Brown new cars ) & he used to have a racing engine in his car once! When I asked what car he said it was one of those Ribbon cars you know the one that only had 3 wheels Me what you had a racing engine in a 3 wheeler what type of engine was it Bloke I dunnow it had one of those shiny tops Me whate a chrome rocker cover Bloke no I`m not into that kind of music I used to hide from him if I happened to see him coming but if I didn`t then it was 10 minutes or so of absolute Sh*te I started to feel sorry for him & would change the subject & then he would lose interest & walk off. Simon what a time! what a car! what a engine! well done cus well done as well to me old Dad who in retirement still producing stonking engines although he was saying the other day he is coming out of retirement for a while cos he can`t live on the crap pension he & me mum get as well as keeping his own car going A front wheel drive crossflow fezza running a 13.3 at 104 mph get some slicks on there si to get that sixty foot down & that car will easily run in the 12s! It just goes to show you that the good ole x/flows still kick arse bettering some pinto times as well as others! There was a real clean silver harrier running one of our 1700 x/flows 153bhp running a stock 3.9 diff, road tyres loads of wheelspin ran a 14.4 never been to a dragstrip before was over the moon! Well done Andy/Wakesy Also Ian -Harrier ran well in another harrier with one of our x/flows 1700/156hp in the 15s he just needs to put aside his pipe & slippers until after his run up the strip Jeff Harris..
