you might get away with bashing it with a nice sized hammer to try & shock it out of place. That's about the only thing without a proper tool for the job & without damaging nowt.

those tools are shit! they do nothing but damage the ball joint and the boot. Only good if you are replacing the joint. hit the casing with a 'kin big hammer mate this is always enough to free off nearly every joint

big bar and pry it down with some 1 standing on the other end and hit the side or the top

WHS big bar using chassis rail or x/member to lever off and all your weight bouncing on it

Ive always used one and never damaged anything, far easier than wacking it with a hammer imo

As said, give the hub assembly a clout with a big hammer

Itll only fork up the boot if you use a splitter on it and its an unnecessary expense.

there are a couple of types of splitter

07_035.jpg

wount damage the boot or socket, but can kill the threads of not used right

16in%20Forked%20Ball%20Joint%20Seperater_f.jpg

really only to be used if fitting a new joint, kills the boot and put stress on the ball socket= premature wear.

oh....better to wear goggles sometimes
