MK2Ed Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Doesn't bear thinking about. The whole point of being a petrolhead is the petrol thing, take that away and you take away 99% of the action and enjoyment... Who knows what will happen, have to wait and see...
Stu_B Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 What's the crack with bio-ethanol fuel? I drove a bio-ethanol focus & it went really well, is this a sustainable fuel?
Gareth Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 So if the government has its way, bang goes a lot of people's livelihoods, and even more people's hobbies!!! Fookin load of the round ones, they're all a bunch of Apple Pies IMO If and when it gets to that, I'll fight it to the end. Noones gonna tell me that I cant drive MY classic car that I bought and pay to run!!! I'd just like to see the c*nts try and take any of my cars
escortmad79 Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Bollix to the government Bollix to the "Carbon Footprint" (WTF is that anyway, nobody knew what one of them was 12 months ago! ) New cars have no character, they're no fun! I'd rather drive an OSF than a Euro shitbox! To the government & the EU!!
M11rf Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 The thing is they wont forcibly take the car, they will slowly but surely price classic cars off the road, so its impossible to run them... This will be done over a period of time, just like the rise in a litre of fuel... And people will just take it, same way they have taken the rise in fuel to over £1 a litre now... Sorry, its not good, but thats the way it is. Remember 10 years ago? How much was a litre of fuel? If someone told you that it would be over £1 in 10 years time... well... Slowly but surely pricing the average guy off the road...
Noodles Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 I heard that they were gonna blockade the oil refinery in essex again?
Jarrodm Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Remember the Fiat Strada ? Built from recycled metal baught from the russians, supposed to last for 3 years then get thrown away ? I think thats what is going to happen with todays cars electronics.....People will buy new cars, then in 3 years time when they fail there MOTs on all of the critical systems falling apart and not working, people will turn to classics as there source of cheap motoring. Driving the price of desireable classics even higher. My dad works for Mercedes (tony purslow hindhead) and they failed a 54 plate merc on welding last week ! And again this week ! No one can say my Mk1 fiesta's eating the enviroment ! fook The Goverment, Maby we should leave the country and then swim back in so we get a free home. Then we can afford to run our cars !!!! Jarrod
