Classic van insurance ?

Does this exist ? and what would it apply to ? if i bought say a 1980 Transit

could i get the same limited mileage agreed value classic policy

you can with a car the same year or would the insurance company think it was still going to be bounced around a building site.

 

Reason i'm asking is i've noticed a few nice vans and particularly Transits for sale and now i quite fancy one but i know

comercial insurance can be scary.

 

Out of the dozens of cars i've had i've only had one comercial (an 84 Mazda B2000 pickup), had to sell it because the

Probably not. I tried to get my van insured for my business and was quoted over a grand. That was with Adrian Flux.

 

I made the decision there and then not to use it for my business, so got it insured under classic car insurance with Footman James for £170.

Ah right, i'm not intending on using it for business though, but the problem i had with the Mazda truck was i could'nt get a private use quote for it, even when i told the insurer that it was'nt going to be used for work the insurance bod said it makes no difference how you use it we still need to class it as a comercial

The only reason i ended up with that truck is i was ofered it as a swap for a car i was selling at the time and i liked the look of it, had no idea about insuring the thing
