DAZZA Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 You may have seen my previous posts? After many years finally found a Mk1 2 Door Tina. The reason I am putting this post out is to make sure all angles have been covered I dont want to step on anyones toes. I know a good few of you are in the area. Its been laid up in a Croydon location for 10 years plus and I have been unsuccesful in locating the owner. Been on the phone to the local council, police and DVLA all day, trying to enquire of the owner and all the legalities if he is not located. Thanks to Escamino, Copy and Mossy for their advice. I will give a description (without giving to much away such as location etc )and if anyone is aware of the car or owner I will be grateful for any information? A-Reg 1962 Mk1 2-Door cortina (Airflow grill), Graphite grey, escort cosworth bonnet vents, caged, 3.0 v6, apparently had revo's until recently and have been nicked/replaced with 90s ford steels. ( if all goes well, put back to a hot period spec, dished steels, pre-cross/crossflow etc) I would also make a polite request that if you do know anything, to PM me as opposed to replying, ive been waiting for so long for somethig like this that I dont want it swiped before I get there! Be nice to get to Boxhill or the Ace other than a bloody passenger for once! Grateful for your help and time people.
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Unfortunatley I don't have any info for ya mate, but I wish you the best of luck with obtaining it. What exactly are the legal implications with trying to obtain a car that has no owner (so to speak). Is it difficult???
Mk 1 Mark Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 The car is not for sale as BigRod knows the person and tried to buy it in the past... Kev16 also knows the car and its not for sale... also seen it myself...and its rotten mate....
oliwally Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 No not really, can send off for new log book and wait 2 weeks for the dvla to contact owners,if they do not recieve anything back from the registered owners then its yours. Was loads of reports of bikes being stolen this way, theives would watch the bikes and wait for them to go on holiday and nick bike, send off the new log book form and when the owners got back to find bike was missing they called the police to be told they couldnt do anything because they no longer own the bike.
