its only steel mate. cut the full bulk head out and make a new one out of one sheet or cut one out of a scrapper and make repair panels

nothing that cant be fixed

recess the bulkhead and pretend you did it on purpose to fit the engine further back m8 thats what we said when andy cut too big a hole for the gearbox tunnel :mrgreen:

if you want send me some pics via pm and i will see if i can come up with a suggestion

lee DO NOT PANIC!!!!! the bit i cut out there was only the first cuts, i took out more than in the pic that i have posted, wasnt far off what you have removed. you havent fooked it all up dont worry

yep thats me gettin down and dirty with the grinder

i do like to cut bits out of cars, especially other peoples

i have texted andy and im sure if he still has the pics on his phone he will post them up to see what we did next including removing the plenum and all the reshaping of the bulkhead to be able move back the cossie lump in the bay

basically we formed the new shape of the recesses bulkhead in angle and welded that in place as a framework and then welded new sheet in place to fill the gaps creating a recess back into the car of a few inches was about the size of the area your m8 removed

same engine, different head just ask gaz :mrgreen:

you could if you really wanted to chassis mount the engine and move it back a bit if you decided to recess the bulkhead which would give a much better weight distribution 8)

or plate it like you have and reinforce it behind, or, ask around for a bit of bulkhead like the bit you have missing and weld that in but dont worry all is not lost :ykt:

done that lee that's what that shiney bit is  could have done with a full panel going down, think i weild it up but it's going to look sh*te but i could also skim the buk-head in filler i think to make it look pretty
