Trevmk3 Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 Kurt from around Manchester way has one in his white Mk2, fit snuggly cant find the engine pics i took of it a couple of years ago.
lee_capri Posted December 10, 2007 Author Report Posted December 10, 2007 would any-one no of a rought price this would cost to running throttal bodie's and what else would be needed to make it run,and would you consider it a worth while project engine compaired to the pinto
bmxdave Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 If your after bodies youll be needing a standalone ecu which can start to cost. Up until recently i was planning this swap for my mk1 cortina. If you buy a complete car youll make a bit of money back if its got a good box and if the interior is decent. Its best to use the standard ecu for budget reasons as bodies and carbs will get expensive unless you can use one of those 2d mapping systems. Cant see why not but i havnt heard of it before.
jamesg Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 the 2.8 box fits but you have to play around abit so that the clutch works properly, only because the 2.8 fly wheel is smaller than the 2.9. have a look on Capri sport site, loads of gear box pics on there
