R1.Andy Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 im gonna be running a mildley tuned x flow with twin choke webber iv just dug out all me bits while the garage is clear and iv found 4 inlets manifolds all of them are slightly differnt can any one point me in the right direction as to wot one i should use as in are there better than others and so on cheers
Mr Sam Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 obviously the one the twin choke bolts to and bolts to a x'flow then choose the one with the biggest ports......and open them up a little
R1.Andy Posted December 11, 2007 Author Report Posted December 11, 2007 all of them fit x flow and take weber. some are short as in stuby others seem longer. from the gasket face to the back enge
DanB Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 Be careful with the longer one - Not sure what the engine bay is like in a Mk1 cortina but on my Mk2 escort I found that that a 4" inlet manifold (approx) pushed the carbs too near to the brake master cylinder. Consequently I fitted a shorter item (can't remeber the length but 3" seems about right). Everything now fits but there is no space for filters (just 16mm trumpets). Dan
