bmxdave Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 Picked it up last Tuesday. As soon as i saw it i knew i had to have it. As soon as i drive it i was working out how quickly i could get hold of it! Its pretty rapid and on my hitlist so far has been a 1700 puma and a civic type r. I chased after a E36 M3 for a while but didnt quite have the oomph or handling. Once ive finished with it it will though! Every time i go to take pictures its either pissing down or dark. I havnt seen light for about 3 months because of work. Heres a bit of a spec list. Engine : 2.1 pinto, big valves, ported etc, very big cam, 38 dgas carb, 4-2-1 2" manifold. Gearbox : S.ierra Type 9 5 speed with one of those new telescopic internal hydraulic clutch things. Steering + Suspension : Escort mk2 Steering rack rose jointed etc, 2 1/4 adjustable coilovers and vented discs and calipers up front, Standard rear suspension with mk1 Cortina axle. Wheels : MK2 Escort steels. Im just going to fit some 6" alleycats and adjustable rear shocks for now. Looking into Turbo pintos for the future. A week after getting it i blew the diff up so its currently sitting on axle stands in bits, so its not worth taking anymore pictures.

I was looking for 24v cossie engines and came across it purely by chance Ive got some 40 DCOE's to go on, just need a manifold. Im gonna wait for wheels first as it has trouble gripping in third, in the dry.

bmxdave Posted December 21, 2007 Author Report Posted December 21, 2007 Nah, ive fixed it now. The little planet gears where blown into tiny little pieces, was pretty messy. This new diff seems a lot looser and it seems to be spinning up one wheel more then old one did, which makes me think the old one was fooked in the first place.
bmxdave Posted July 24, 2008 Author Report Posted July 24, 2008 A little update. The cars changed loads since ive gotten it. Ive put my mark on it. Some bits not to everyones taste but i like it. Heres a list of bits ive done and a few pictures Fitted rev limiter. Changed rear dampers to adjustable Spax. Changed diff to RS 3.54. Fitted decent spotties. Raised the bonnet. Fitted a stupid blue light to the grill. Added a cold air feed. Added a passenger harness. Rear alleycats added. Fitted a side exit, then failed MOT on flames so fitted a home made jobbie with a resonator and a little middle box. Sound the nuts on tickover. Removed rear bumper and towbar and fog light. OSF sticker ykt!!!!! Heres some piccies and ill add some more recent ones soon. Ill refit the middle bar again soon. It kept getting loose and doing my head in so i took it off for now. And i havnt finished the wireing on the lights yet so they look messy, another job to get round to.
