samurai Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 How the hell do you fit sparco pro2000's in a mk1 escort? i tired today and it sticks out alittle and it hits the door if i shut it! Thanks
Retromotorsport Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 2 options... get some mounting bars and fit the seat so high you'll bang your head or get some Sparco Evo's ... standard width ones
samurai Posted November 1, 2006 Author Report Posted November 1, 2006 Mounting bars that weld to the body? Naaa ill find another way of geting them in!
samurai Posted November 1, 2006 Author Report Posted November 1, 2006 Im thinking long bolts and tighten and then that curved bit of then floor/tunnel will flaten out so the seat frame will sit flat, its not much it has to flaten to.
samurai Posted November 1, 2006 Author Report Posted November 1, 2006 I really wanted the pro2000's (they look so good) so i got it and its gonna go in
Danmex Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 Make sure you post up pics when your done to prove everyone wrong
Admin Mk2Jo Posted November 1, 2006 Admin Report Posted November 1, 2006 Make sure you post up pics when your done to prove everyone wrong Or ..... NOT, maybe
Morley Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 Ahh the joy of trying to get anything bigger than an actual bucket to sit on in a Mk1 Escort... The Sparco Evo Seats in my Mk1 Van only just fit, which is a pain because i don't really fit in them all that well... If you're lucky you can position the Evo Chubber seats in, but i think there is about one position where they dont hit the door.
samurai Posted November 1, 2006 Author Report Posted November 1, 2006 MMmm been thinking! How much are the mounting bars? and do they mount to my sparco side mounted steel seat frames that i have already? Im haveing my gearbox mounts weld up in the next few days so i might aswell get them welded in to at the same time right. Anyone got pictures of some done already? Thanks
pelvins Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 you guys are lucky there are only two seats that ive found fit in an anglebox when youve got a huge gearbox tunnel omp eco or corbaru clubman all the others come outside the door !
RETRO_AL Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 make a little adjustment to the tunnel big fooking hammer lol
samurai Posted November 1, 2006 Author Report Posted November 1, 2006 Its just the curved bit from the floor to the tunnel that gets in the way (rear of seat frame) and the seat slides back down it if i can get it to sit on that curve by flatening it,it will just about fit
Morley Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 How about doing away with the front seats all together, moving the pedal box back and extending the steering column and sit on the back seat... No... ok. I'll get me coat
Wessie Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 thats wot i've got 2 do morley ! i dont fit in my car in the standard position
Morley Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 thats wot i've got 2 do morley ! i dont fit in my car in the standard position Should be good for launching the car off the line tho, getting the weight over the axle plus theres less distance to go if you decide to get fresh with the missus one evening!
Wessie Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 my engine is sittin so-far back in my anglebox its ridiculous ! i been toying around with the idea of a floor mounted pedal box
