MexDan Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 And I'm thinking it would be the perfect time to hi jack the diswasher to clean all the parts i've been scrubbing for hours in the garage... Has anyone ever done this with a carb casing???? (obviously its been stripped) I've seen lots of bolts, brackets etc that have been cleaned this way.. would there be any problem in cleaning the casings??? Oh yeah.. may seem like a stupid question... but i take it you dont put a dishwaser tablet in?????? Cheers
emu Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Put a dishwasher tablet in. otherwise you might as well stand your bits out in the rain . The washing machine works well too, but not for anything too heavy
RedditchJay Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 cleans carbs, rocker covers, heads............... lol.... after you have used it {with a tab} run the dishwasher again with a tab in again just to ensure all fumes and oil is cleaned out........
32 HI-BOY Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 i would rater scrub than put it in a dish washer
emu Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Why ?? if your dishwasher is ok with delicate crockery and glasses then a lump of cast alloy is going to be fine
4parajon Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 I believe tomatoe ketchup is very good as well for cleaning up old parts, it does it even quicker than coca cola
