hotrodholty Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 just some pics of my home town at the opening last weekend for the european capital of culture. the city has recieved loads of investment and has never looked so good, makes me proud to be a scouser after years of the city gettin bad press its nice to see it fighting back:thumbsup: enjoy!

What did we get? 5 buses we fobbed off to bolton 3 years ago because they where nothing but trouble. When are we getting our new buses? mid 2009. Just in time for fook ALL!

And heres that tall building you can see from Liverpool. And the woodside Ferry terminal. Im definately not into the newer building thatve been put up in town. As far as i knew the skyline was not allowed to be changed anymore (i forgotten what its called, its like the national trust type thing).

Super_Shaun Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 Love it Ive been telling people for years theres nothing wrong with Liverpool, I was born in Whiston General and lived in St'Helens and Widnes until 6, then we moved. I'd go back with out a moments hesitation should the oppertunity arrouse. We (birkenhead, i work for arriva) where promised a whole new fleet (120 buses) as well as a new breakdown van, just for 2008. We (Watford, I too work for Arriva) where promised 12new buses for our flagship route. What did we get? 6 New Solo Optares(sp?) Tiny horrible little things with the wheels at the front and 5 New SB120 Plaxton Bodied which arer way to big for the 10route weve got them on. None for our flagship route though. Arriva Expect anything less??
bmxdave Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 Haha theres some optares run by other companies around this way. Such as Joblink and the 'comfy bus'. Between me and my friends theyre known as benny buses, short for bender buses as you always see little sad twats on them. I heard they have a bad wheel bearing problem, but i may be getting confused with the equally as shit renault version. Dont mention any DAF's. Especially the newer stuff. The electrics are useless. One little problem and the whole lot shuts down And the bell wires always rub through and whenever you go over a bump they go off. Plus the ECAS system is about as usefull as getting the shits on a 16 hour plane journey. Whats wrong with the old fashioned systems on the Volvos and Leylands eh? Sorry, rant over Yes, Arriva = Gay. Once my apprenticeship is finished (8 months woohoo!) im off.
