I think i'll have to spray all the alloy bits silver instead because i can't be arsed taking it all to bits and polishing it all every month  . What do other people with alloy bits do then ? Is they're some sort of laquer/clear coating i can get ?

Wax polish everything before you fit it.

Use a good quality solid furniture wax (liquid or aerosol waxes contain water!).

Wax seals the pores of the metal and stops moisture getting in.

If you then need to mirror-polish it (or whatever) it's not difficult to polish through the wax.

Works great on chrome as well as alloy.

use damp start it gives everything a coat of clear protection
Sounds easy so i like this one  . What's it like though ? Dry or slimey ?

That's the problem , i'm not a bufty and don't want to polish anything  . That's why i want to find something i can spray on that doesn't corrode or require polishing everytime i drive it .

dust will stick to wd-40 but does wipe off piss of piddle. On my old motorbike i used to spray it on the engine casing when i put in in the garage & wipe it off when we went for a blast  i think its the only way you will get round the prob gaz  or ill take the rad off your hands if its being to much hassle?

mmmmmmm very interesting . WD40 or damp start for the clear stuff or good old fashioned paint :?

don't go the laquer route now! moisture will eventually get underneath and it will look really bad then and difficult to change. Use Autoglym metal polish for stuff that has a good surface finish like your rad, you will be amazed at the difference after 2 applications. I guarantee it  (and no I don't work for Autoglym!)

Autosol has a coarser grain for more corroded stuff. Then just use a silicon or Teflon type spray or wax as a barrier. It will still need buffing up every now and then though! :ykt:
