Mr.Sumo Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 ....old skool cars and paint shops went into 4 last Friday for quotes on the Granny....2 said £3000 and didn"t even move from the office / reception to have a look , 1 said £1500 , but could be more cos its old ...and the last 1 said " sorry mate , we don"t do old cars unless its an insurance job........ ......... i give up
RFChris Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 Fooking fools mate. Gotta be someone on here who will do a good CAREFUL and HONEST job....because they love old cars. I fooking hate garages who are of the opinion that old cars aren't worth the time. It's because they know its not an insurance job, and as such they'll have to do a proper job. Cnuts. Chris
Wessie Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 cant they see we're doin it cos we love our cars? and we want other generations to enjoy them ? correct me if im wrong !
Mark2Mark Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 Damn right! but they can do easier quicker jobs on newer cars so they don't bother Luckily there is a garage near me who care about old cars and own a couple themselves they are good and honest not the cheapest but you get what you pay for

If thats too expensive then there are plenty of people out there who will do it cheaper but as I said you get what you pay for. spooner Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 the prices these big names charge piss me off, they relly dont care about the car. the money covers loads of staff, one to strip, one to prep, one to paint, one to polish, one to refit, one to clean, one to hang about making tea, plus rent, rates, waste, boss'es car, wife's car ect. i tried to take on these places 2 years ago by doing deals,u strip, prep then i would base coat, top coat, flat & polish.the cost £550.00 job done. prob is people think your too cheap and go and pay twice as much cous they think it done propely.to$$ers. o well moan over
