mk1mexico Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 It seems everything i try to do fooks up. Got a track day in the scooby on Sunday, so i borrow some 17 inch wheels to put my track tyres on, they use different bolts I get some bolts, put them on and they dont clear my Brakes Sick of the scooby, i did a bit on my mk1, everything done, filled it up with oil, ready for its virgin cranking, it fires up runs sweet, then the BRAND NEW FORD cam belt tensioner let go on tickover Now iv got a solid locked engine which wont turn and is most probably fooked. Walked away, contemplating selling everything and now having a cup of tea at home SICK.
antz Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Damn that’s unlucky!!!!! Surely you can complain to ford that their faulty part has caused a knackered engine and you demand a replacement as it was their part that let go and is still under their warranty!!!???...their part breaks, causes yours to break so its their fault???...id be down there playing hell and demanding a replacement engine. I don’t know anythign about scoobys though
mk1mexico Posted March 7, 2008 Author Report Posted March 7, 2008 Wish i didnt know anything mate Its an idea, cant see me getting anywhere with them though.

mk1mexico Posted March 7, 2008 Author Report Posted March 7, 2008 Jo, its got 4 brand spanking Avon ZZ3's on there which cost me 220 quid a fortnight ago. Hence i didnt want to fook them, but it looks like i have no choice now.
mk1mexico Posted March 7, 2008 Author Report Posted March 7, 2008 Don't know unless you try though, do ya? Worth a phonecall surely? Thing is though i fitted it myself and im no mechanic. Will have to wait till i can be arsed stripping it again to see if it was my mistake etc.
