steve mk2 Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 i know they just bolt on but i found out yesterday it isnt that simple?? does anybody know the easiest way of puting it on? i cant get it to line up with the origina holes?? what position should the car be in for easiest fitting and is it beter to fit it up with the antir roll bar on or off the car??? thanks steve
mrmoo Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 have you got the right kit for your car? might be better to find out before you redrill it to suit
flyingbanana Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 i find its easier to bolt it on first with the arb off , then attach the arb by the lower arms, semi bolt it in then lift it up to the anti drive kit
Baz. Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 you will have to undo basically all the front end then get the bolts through and do it all up, but they aint worth the agro, you wont notice any difference mate its just an " ive got" if you get my meaning
steve mk2 Posted March 10, 2008 Author Report Posted March 10, 2008 well "ive got one now" lol thanks for the help guys i had the whole front end off coz its all newparts anyway the problem i had was my long bolts that go through the kit wernt long enough to find the thread to get all the bolts in before tightening everything up so it settles itself ... id be puting one side on and the other wouldnt line up then a bracket will fall of a bush and hit me in the eye then u just get frustrated and it all gets worse but i got their in the end . if it dont do anything it looks pretty good anyway. but if i ever have to take it off i wont put it back on again coz its a bloody night mare!!!!! anyway i got a few pics.... by the way please ignore the rotten front panel its getting a new one and also the under side of the car its getting booked in for some major surgery next week.. the dive kit and new arb new tca's with polyrace bushes new quickrack with rs rod ends and polyrace bushes refurbed disk backplate and new calipers pads and brakelines also put new rear drums and shoes and blasted and painted uo all the positioning springs and pins while i was replacing everything. nearly their lol
Tom Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 nice mate is that a new, new ARB? where did you get it from bud?
steve mk2 Posted March 11, 2008 Author Report Posted March 11, 2008 its not new but its 20 times better condition than my old arb lol i think if i wen over a speed bump at more than 5 mph the arb would have snaped at the tca's on both ends they wer that worn. i got the roll bar from g.s escorts 20 quid or something cant remember the price exactly. i sandblasted it and sprayed it with hamerite then sprayed it with wheel silver the next day and it reacted and wrinkled up lol but fook it looks ok.
mk1rob Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Looks good mate! Did you notice a difference with the anti dive kit as some people have said you dont?
steve mk2 Posted March 11, 2008 Author Report Posted March 11, 2008 i cant realy say because i havent driven this car atal yet, i wont find out for a good while the car needs two front wings a front panel and a hell load of welding surgery and a whole car respray and havent even started on the engine build yet lol god knows wen il get it on the road hopefully in time for the late summer show might be a bit optimistic for the londond to brighton run this year. ants from this site tells me its a good improvement but other people say its a waste of time i surpose it depends how knakered youre old antiroll bar bushes wer before fitting the new kit as to weather you notice a difference. should definiately make a improvement on my car coz ive uprated the whole front end.
antz Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Looks good mate! Did you notice a difference with the anti dive kit as some people have said you dont? i did when i fitted mine. I do a test before and after just to see if i could tell the difference and i could
