Hot-Spark electronic ignition

has anybody used one? i am sick of faffin about with the point and stuff to try and get the timing right, i would love to be able to aford a bestek kit, but i can't, so i am lookin the these, they look simple enough, and cheap only $39 so about 20 quid, just wondered if anyone knew anythin about them?

That doesn't look bad mate. Hall effect electronic ignition systems are still being used today within ECU's for engine managment. I made a system once upon a time for my Vespa scooter

 

Anyway, all that will do is replace your contacts and condenser, it will not change or modify your advance curve. So if you want to get the best out of a tuned engine you will have to use a distributor from someone like Bestek or run mappable electronic ignition. (Thats if you have a tuned engine).

I have just ordered a couple, my mate already has one installed in his Capri and it seems to work fine

fair enough, is your mates capri modified at all? because mine is, quite a lot too
