what you worried about anyone elses times for ... their not competing against you are they? ...their in a different class ....... we all know anyone who runs a quicker time than you is cheating in one form or another

i ran 15.3 also manged to do a little sight seeing on the start line did'nt even relise they were green till i saw the black anglia going down the track

i've gained over a second 60ft time but i've lost the same off the rest of the track im thinking with a bit of tweeking of the map i can get some of it back

my car ran a 13.1 with no gas but with slicks, actually ive never run it with proper street tyres, some people say STREET tyres but are actually using AO32R or 48R yoki track tyres which are as soft as

kj's map and his engine is a higher speck than mine and a lot more torque

the only difference in KJs engine is the bore size yours as a ported head same near as dam it cams so higher spec NOT. and the map in your car started as one on the computer then live mapped in the car. to gain 1 sec in the 60ft tells a story of to much wheel spin into second gear whitch in my book means more torque so a different approach should be on the cards

i thought kj's was built with the intention of lots of torque not bhp because of the gearbox and the way he was going to use it. because i no mine had more bhp but his had a shed load more torque (from the last rolling road figures i had (i no it was badly set up) the torque of the engine now it has been set up is fantastic i even got to do proper launches, because it has the grunt to do it which it never had before, but i dropped time through the rest of the strip. i did have it wheel spinning on the change in to 3rd and 4th but the launches were clean and those times were late 14's & 15's, prehaps it was scrabeling for grip and i didn't realise because the track wasn't greatand sideways in 4th surprised me, 41/2-5k and dumping the clutch on the strip worked very well with almost no wheelspin just a short churp and gone. nothing on the day beat me to 60ft and only lost one race. i must have got confused about the map and some thing else we were talking about

The slicks save lots of time in 1st and 2nd gear on hot N.A. motors . The 350+ bhp turbos and nitrous posse would spin street tyres up the whole length of the strip so slicks help them the most . Most cars with slicks can do 1.5 to 1.7 sec 60 foots but the same car on proper street rubber (not trackday street rubber) will then do 2 sec 60 foots . Some people have done some seriously quick 60 foots on the trackday street legal rubber , Billy Clarke has done 1.8 secs on A048's and v8ian has done a 1.6 sec on R888's !!!!!!!!! . The more power you have the more time the tyres will save , most 10 sec cars are really 12-13 sec cars when their race rubber is taken away . We had a 50 page thread about this the other month and nothing with a 4 cylinder N.A. engine (no gas) and all the m.o.t. bits still fitted at the time of the run (so brakes , exhausts , road legal rubber etc etc ) has ever gone quicker than 13.0 secs at the Pod . These cars were also stripped and on trackday road rubber . If anything beats 13.0 and can then pass an M.O.T. like it without sneaking any bits back on then they are doing ace
