Wessie Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 ok clever people of the OSF world now im doing the wiring loom for my new racecar (not OSF) i'm having a rev counter with a shift light, an oil pressure guage with a warning light and a water temperature guage with a warning light the rev counter is easy to wire in - thats sorted the oil pressure guage and warning light was taken off my old racecar so the light comes on if the pressure drops to bugger all but i cant work out how to set my temperature guage warning light up to come on at or above a certain temperature :S obviously the guage has a sensor on it that mounts into the block, but how do i wire in a warning light to come on above a certain temperature (say 100 degrees) ? cheers
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 I know one way you could do it... a thermostatic controller from a Kenlowe fan setup. Put the sensor into the top water hose, set your knob up, and instead of switching on a fan, it will turn a light on instead

(thats a similar way i was thinking of doing it) mr jimbob, only problem for me is mounting it into the top hose but a controller is the best way of doing it me thinks ! cheers jim
