Twin choke webber down draught identification.

My mate has just bought an old 70s kit boat powered by an essex v6... Wanting to rebuild the carb but how do we know what size it is.

 

Iv not seen it yet forgive me if its printed on it.

 

might have some pics and a vid later. It sounds ace on the straight through 3 foot long exhausts

it is printed on the side of the base plate it should have some thing like "38 dgav" or something similar, being as it's on an essex he might be really lucky and it might be a 40 webber and will have covers over the linkages but only if it's an older engine
