XE into a Capri

Hello, has anyone fitted an XE into their capri or know of one done, if so, have you got any helpful tips or knowledge? im looking to put the XE in over summer/ winter and would like to have everything in place and all bases covered before i begin as the car is my daily drive.

Pretty much everything that applies to Scrotes applies to the Capri as well except you've more room.

Surely someone has done this engine swap before into a capri?

Ive been told i need to move my brake servo?... not yet knowing fully how it works, can i simply extend/replace the piperwork and move it all foward to the front of the engine bay? cheers.

I know of a guy who has done this. Met him at Carry on Camping last year. His name is Rab and he drives a General Lee replica Capri. I think you can get in contact with him on the Capri Club Scotland Forum. http://ccscotland.17.forumer.com/ He has a Rover V8 in there now but when I was speaking to him he said he used to have an XE.

Thanks, that picture helps to visualise it, will look on their website. IM going to run twin carbs, so unsure if they will fit with the break servo in place.

Has anyone had to move their brake servo foward before? if so how did they manage this? i just dont want to start messing and ruin it. Also is there truth in - by adding a twin exhaust system i can loose torque? and would it be noticeable?

i have the XE already, i like what it has to offer, and i know it sounds silly but im not into Turbo engines, ..dont get me wrong if a cossy came my way id have it..then sell it on to fund my Mk1 savings!

 

i dont mind my pinto power at the moment, just want more, more acceleration, more suprising 'faster' more expenisve cars
