ZetecVan 2.0 Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 I've just put a website live for my friends gearbox repair business. It's only phase one. The second phase is to put up pages for different car manufacturers listing the different gearboxes. Anyway, any constructive criticism you can give would be good. Express Gearbox Repairs - Click me!
Trevmk3 Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 like the slidshow with the exploaded pictures and stuff. on the map your able to move the arrow yourself, not sure if its usually like that but i found i could move it but in all it looks very clean and uncluttered
Trevmk3 Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 maybe the arrow thing is the map sites thing anyway and not something of your problem?
Savvi Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Looks good Mike. I like the top right corner to increase the text font.
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted May 17, 2008 Author Report Posted May 17, 2008 maybe the arrow thing is the map sites thing anyway and not something of your problem? Yeah that's streetmap. I may do a Google maps/earth mashup and embed it onto a page. Just need to read up how to do it. Cheers Savvi.
jimbo Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Hi Mike. That's Brilliant!! Nice design. Well laid out. Loaded quick enough. Easy to navigate. Flows nicely. Couple of bits as I proof read it...... Under courtesy car section The font in the title doesn't seem to run through the first word properly like it does on other titles "first come first serve basis" should be "first come, first served basis" Under 4WD section Four wheel should be hyphenated The map Google maps are deffo nicer..... Sorry to be a fusspot.....Just me, I guess Basically, If I was looking for a gearbox fix and found the site. I'd want to investigate further, as it looks approachable and professional. Phase 2 sounds like it will add much better depth to the site too. Also to further increase the value of the site, if they are willing to pay for your dev work, then having some tech-ish pages to help the layman learn a bit more about gearboxes is a good thing. Not only does it help the customer feel that the company is transparent and informative, but also when folks like us start referencing them forums (like we do the tech stuff on Burtons) that will help with search-engine rankings and also indirect sales.
