V8ian Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 As if I havent got enough to do with my own car, Im helping my son get his Mk1 escort on the road, its omly been 6 years sitting in my workshop gathering dust and dents, Question time, Axles, He has a set of 7" superlites, 175/50s on the fromt and 195/45s on the rear, and as most of you have guessed the rears rub on the outer lip, What axle width options are there, Anglia, Anglia Van Escort, has anyone got the definate widths drum to drum, and has anyone got a halfshaft out of the car that they can take a piccy of the spline and bearing areas, I have a cunning plan

russ105e Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 An Escort axle is 48", Anglia Van is 46" and Anglia Saloon is 43"
V8ian Posted June 6, 2008 Author Report Posted June 6, 2008 Cheers, I bet the van axle is about as rare as the 3 litre Baby atlas I have tucked away, But im sure I know where a van axle is, its down to a phone call, If I draw a blank on the van axle, I may even narrow a Escort axle just for something to do
